Realme 9 Pro 5G, Realme 9 Pro+ 5G Launched in India – Tech Report Today

Realme 9 Pro 5G and Realme 9 Pro + 5G launched in India on Wednesday (February 16). Both Realme phones come with a light shift design that changes the color of the rear panels from light blue to red when exposed to direct sunlight or ultraviolet light. However, the color-shifting technology is limited to the Sunrise Blue color option. The phones also have triple rear cameras and a dynamic RAM expansion, which expands the RAM up to 5GB using the built-in storage. The Realme 9 Pro 5G Series is preloaded with Street Photography Mode 2.0, which provides filters for Neon Trail, Light Trail Portrait, Rush Hour and Light Painting. As for the main differences, the Realme 9 Pro 5G has a 120Hz display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC. On the other hand, the Realme 9 Pro + 5G features a 90Hz Super AMOLED display and a MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC. The Realme 9 Pro 5G competes with the likes of Infinix Zero 5G, Vivo T1 5G and Moto G71 5G, while the Realme 9 Pro + 5G competes with models such as the Mi 11i, Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge 5G and Moto. Realme 9 Pro 5G, Realme 9 Pro+ 5G price in India

Realme 9 Pro 5G starts at Rs. 17,999 (introductory price) for the base 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The phone also comes in 8GB + 128GB model, priced at Rs. 20,999. In contrast, the Realme 9 Pro + 5G is priced at Rs. 24,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant. The phone is priced at Rs. 26,999 for 8GB + 128GB option. and the top-of-the-line 8GB + 256GB model is priced at Rs. 28,999.

The Realme 9 Pro 5G and Realme 9 Pro + 5G smartphones are available in Aurora Green, Midnight Black and Sunrise Blue. The Realme 9 Pro 5G will go on sale from February 23 from 12 noon (noon), while the Realme 9 Pro + 5G will be available for purchase starting February 21 from 12 noon (noon).

The two new Realme phones will be available from Flipkart, Realme.com and the mainline channels.

Flat instant discount on launch offers on Realme 9 Pro and Realme 9 Pro + up to Rs. 2,000 exclusively for customers using HDFC Bank cards and EMI transactions.

Last year, the Realme 8 Pro had a starting price of Rs. 17,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant.

Realme 9 Pro 5G specifications

The Realme 9 Pro 5G runs on Android 12 out-of-the-box with Realme UI 3.0 and features a 6.6-inch full-HD + LCD panel with a 120Hz (six-level adaptive) refresh rate. The phone comes with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, Adreno 619 GPU and up to 8GB of RAM. In terms of optics, the Realme 9 Pro 5G features a triple rear camera setup, including a 64-megapixel primary sensor, f1.79 lens, as well as an 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter and a 2-megapixel macro Shooter.

For selfies and video chats, the Realme 9 Pro 5G features a 16-megapixel selfie camera sensor on the front.

The Realme 9 Pro 5G comes standard with 128GB of onboard storage. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Realme 33W Dart Charge packs the phone with a 5,000mAh battery that supports fast charging. The Realme 9 Pro 5G is 8.5mm thick and weighs 195 grams.

Realme 9 Pro+ 5G specifications

Realme 9 Pro + 5G also comes with Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12. The phone has a 6.4-inch Full-HD + (1,080×2,400 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 90Hz refresh rate. The display also comes with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 180Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood is the Realme 9 Pro + Mali-G68 MC4 GPU with octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC and up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM.

For photos and videos, the Realme 9 Pro + has a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor with f/1.8 lens that supports Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The camera setup also features an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro shooter.

The primary camera sensor on the Realme 9 Pro + is paired with proprietary prolight imaging technology, which is claimed to help provide better lighting. The sensor increases the pixel size from one micron to two, which is rated to increase the light intake by 50 percent. Additionally, the phone has AI Noise Reduction Engine 3.0, which is advertised to reduce the noise on your photos by 30%.

The Realme 9 Pro + comes with a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 selfie camera sensor with an f/2.4 lens on the front. The phone also has a clear fusion algorithm that can help capture well-lit selfies even in low-light conditions and indoor settings.

In terms of storage, the Realme 9 Pro + 5G offers up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 inbuilt storage. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/A-GPS, USB-Type-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer and proximity sensor. The phone also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Furthermore, the in-display fingerprint sensor on the Realme 9 Pro + 5G is equipped with a heart rate sensor that is claimed to provide heart rate detection and recording. There are eight different heart rate visual labels, namely General, Working, Exercise, Leisure; Excited, stressed, energetic and insomniac. These are said to help consumers track their heart rate at a specific time. The heart-rate tracking is, however, not medically approved.

The Realme 9 Pro + 5G features dual speakers via Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio. The phone packs a 4,500mAh battery that supports superordinate fast charging up to 60W. In addition, the phone measures 160.2×73.3×7.99mm and weighs 182 grams.
